Oyster Tour Grebbestad Archipelago
Operated by Boating Lifestyle
Overview
The Oyster Tour is a guided boat tour to the oyster farming areas outside Havstenssund, located on Sweden’s west coast in northern Bohuslän. This experience combines scenic coastal boating with insight into traditional oyster cultivation in one of Scandinavia’s most respected oyster regions. You learn how oysters are farmed, harvested, and handled, as well as how seasonal conditions, water quality, and sustainability practices affect production. When tasting is permitted, a tasting of freshly harvested oysters is included directly at sea. From Midsummer to September, oyster harvesting pauses due to natural spawning cycles. During this period, the tour focuses on farming structures, cultivation methods, marine ecology, and the surrounding archipelago, offering a comprehensive and educational experience even without tasting. This oyster safari is ideal for food lovers, small private groups, and visitors looking for an authentic seafood experience in Bohuslän.
